Do you suffer from “hurried” sickness?

Most of my life I tended to ignore needing to rest. I can recall being so exhausted, yet I just kept going. There were always projects to do, places to go, people to see. I even remember as a little girl hating to take naps because I was afraid of missing out on something.

It wasn’t until I got so sick in 2007 and began learning the importance of putting my own oxygen mask on first every day and being kind to myself, that I feel like I can truly accomplish the best things in life now. (Read more about my story here.) I enjoy taking good care of myself, keeping healthy margins (boundaries), and listening to my gut and not just pushing through for the sake of pleasing or appearance. It’s not always easy, but it’s so worth it! And Ken enjoys the newer version of me as well. 

If you tend to be busy, please consider placing your own oxygen mask on first, too, so you can be the best version of yourself for those who love and count on you. Say no to “hurried” sickness while you still can before it takes a terrible toll on your health.
